Product and user-experience focused software engineer with 15 years of experience in a wide range of industries, such as: fintech, blockchain, healthcare, crowdsourced delivery platforms, telematics, sports tracking, and e-commerce. With over 10 years experience building native iOS apps in Objective-C and Swift, as well as some experience in Android, responsive web frontend (Angular), backend (Node.js), and databases (Cloudant/CouchDB). Comprehensive experience with small scale startups, founding new products/teams, and leading small teams of engineers. Key achievements:

• Apps used by over 15 million unique monthly active users, with 4.5+ star ratings

• Secured funding for a new team of 35 people, by presenting an R&D project to IBM's CTO

• Worked on IBM's first FDA regulated piece of software

• Awarded "Innovation in Business Excellence" by Fingal Chamber of Commerce, 2017

• Lead engineer on multiple, multi-million euro EU funded projects (Horizon 2020)

Career Highlights

I've been lucky enough to have great opportunities in my career to touch of a wide range of services and industries, such as working on IBMs first FDA regulated iOS app, building an uber-like crowdsource delivery platform for Walmart's grocery delivery service, and leading all aspects of mobile design and development for a small blockchain/web3 company. I'm very proud of my most recent app, Kukai Wallet, as it was one of the most technically challenging pieces of work i've worked on. It involved massive amounts of research, experimentation and co-ordination, due to an incredibly fast moving platform with little documentation and no SDKs/libraries to build on top of. As well as reverse engineering third party ReactNative SDKs for Ledger hardware devices, so they could be used in fully native Swift. Links to that project in the below section.
