Team

Scout Motors is carrying forward the heritage of an iconic American vehicle, electrifying and digitizing it with American innovation. As Staff Software Engineer (iOS) on the Digital Products team, you'll provide technical leadership for architecture, development, and evolution of the iOS platform for connected vehicle experiences.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical vision, architecture, and long-term strategy for iOS platform and customer-facing mobile experiences
• Mentor and coach engineers at all levels through architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on collaboration
• Identify and resolve systemic challenges related to scalability, performance, reliability, and developer productivity
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in mobile development, advocating for adoption of new tools and techniques

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering shipping customer-facing applications on iOS
• Deep expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and modern iOS development practices
• Proven experience defining and driving mobile architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices across multiple products or teams
• Experience with version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and mobile release process
• Strong communication and influencing skills with ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to engineers, product managers, designers, and executive stakeholders
• Experience operating in start-up settings, launching 0 to 1 product, and driving graduation to highly customized applications
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Passion for mobile technology and commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building systems in automotive industry, or building mobile apps that connect to IoT devices
• Experience with mobile app testing, experimentation frameworks, and automation frameworks
• Experience with cloud technologies and services (AWS or Azure)
