Join Twitch, the world's biggest live streaming service with global communities built around gaming, entertainment, music, sports, cooking, and more. The Mobile Core team develops frameworks and tools that empower engineering teams across Twitch to build compelling mobile experiences. You'll work on high-impact initiatives including hybrid web-to-mobile platform, performance optimization, automated testing infrastructure, and developer tooling.
• Own and drive the technical strategy for foundational iOS components, native video playback infrastructure, and hybrid (React in WebView) frameworks
• Architect and build robust WebView infrastructure and bridges enabling seamless integration between React-based web content and native iOS functionality
• Lead performance optimization efforts for platform components used by millions of daily active users, establishing benchmarks and best practices
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to iOS engineers across multiple product teams and within Mobile Core
• Drive cross-organizational architectural decisions balancing developer velocity, app performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain development standards for hybrid mobile applications
• 6+ years of professional iOS development experience
• Strong proficiency with Swift and iOS architectural components and ecosystem
• 6+ years of building and shipping production iOS applications to Apple App Store
• Talent for building consensus around technical decisions and guiding team along evolving architecture patterns
• Track record of leading major architectural initiatives, migrations, or platform-level projects
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across teams
• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
• Experience with hybrid mobile architectures, WebView integration, JavaScript bridges, React, or React Native
• Experience with video streaming or real-time communication technologies
• Experience working on platform or infrastructure teams that support multiple product teams
