Responsibilities
- Be a technical leader and multiplier for the team—proactively propose improvements to architecture, tooling, and release processes
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy while actively contributing to team direction, surfacing risks, sharing context, and driving alignment
- Proactively identify architectural risks, technical debt, and vendor concerns before they become problems
- Understand, explore, and question user requirements to create technical requirements that you can document, collaborate with, and explain to your team
- Create and review PRs with thoughtful, constructive feedback; mentor peers and junior engineers
- Quickly research and diagnose issues reported from live products and deliver fixes in a timely manner
- Define release scope in collaboration with product, engineering, and QA teams
- Create unit and automated tests and support integrations and improvements to CI/CD pipeline
- Monitor release health using logs, metrics, automated alerts, and customer feedback
- Bring a security-conscious mindset to your work—think critically about access controls, data handling, and organizational security posture
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing applications with Swift and automated testing
- Deep understanding of Swift concurrency including async/await, actors, @MainActor, and Sendable
- Strong command of iOS design patterns and best practices
- Dedicated to writing clear, concise, testable code with low levels of dependency
- Able to write and maintain automated tests that meaningfully reduce defects
- Comfort working in and bridging from Objective-C codebases as part of long-term Swift migration work
- A genuine interest in team quality and cohesion—investing in the people and processes around you, not just your own output
Ideal Technology Experience
- Writing mobile applications against well-defined RESTful APIs using JSON
- CI/CD automation experience (GitHub Actions, Fastlane)
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude)
- Firebase SDK suite (Crashlytics, Remote Config, Analytics, FCM)
- Feature flag platforms (LaunchDarkly or similar)
- Experience integrating with enterprise Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune (MSAL, IntuneMAM SDK)
- Hands-on experience designing and developing Swift Packages using Swift Package Manager (SPM)
- Experience engineering around poor or intermittent network connectivity
